While no choke marking standard exists, typical choke markings are (in order from greatest to least constriction):
Full Choke = F, Full, * or I
Improved-Modified = IM, Imp. Mod., ** or II
Modified = M, Mod, *** or III
Improved Cylinder = IC, Imp. Cyl., **** or IIII
Skeet = SK, Skeet
Skeet USA = SK USA
Cylinder = CL, Cyl.
Some firearm manufacturers in the Europe also use the United States system.
